Aromas of spring flowers (iris, lily of the valley, peony and violet), small red fruit (raspberry, blackcurrant, strawberry, red currant) and other fruit (morello cherry, quince, plum). On the palate, there is the traditional suppleness of Beaujolais. The tannins are well-ripened and concentrated with good balancing acidity.
Montesierra, Unoaked Chardonnay Macabeo, Aragon Bodega Pirineos, 2008
Chardonnay, Macabeo. Clean and bright with a golden appearance. Aromas of exotic fruit, apple and peach reveal a background of aromatic herbs. Well balanced acidity and a smooth, fresh palate. Ripe cool climate fruit is fermented at low temperatures after extended skin contact and maceration. The wine is left on it’s lees to gain richness and personality.
Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, Valle Reale Vigne Nuove, 2007
Shows lots of plum and black cherry fruit flavours with hints of chocolate, deliciously rustic yet well-structured. This is an excellent Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, 50% of the blend being oak-aged, distinctly a cut above the average wine from the region.

Robert Skalli Merlot, VdP d'Oc, 2005
100% Merlot. Lovely deep red with garnet highlights. Intense notes of ripe red fruit on the nose, with truffle and cinnamon. Flavours of candied fruit and subtle touches of toastiness give a supple roundness. The wine is ready to drink now but can develop complexity and roundness for 2 - 3 years after the vintage date.
‘La Pompadour’, Corbiéres, Cave de Castelmaure, 2005
50% Carignan, 20% Grenache Noir, 30% Syrah. The Grenache Noir was de-stemmed, whereas the other grapes underwent Carbonic maceration. Temperature kept below 25°. 2 rackings, aged in tank, then in Bordeaux barrels of 220 litres. Bottled after a light filtration. Deep colour with purple highlights. Aromas of red fruits with spice and Garrigue. In the mouth it is full and round with a good texture and balance.
